To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
의와 공평을 행하는 것은 제사 드리는 것보다 여호와께서 기쁘게 여기시느니라 (잠21:3)
구약시대에는 제사로, 신약시대에는 예배로 하나님을 기쁘시게 하려고 경건한 마음으로 드립니다. 하지만 하나님께서 진정으로 기뻐하시는 것은 무엇인가요? 하나님께서는 제사 드리는 것보다(than sacrifice) 옳은 일을 하고 공평한 일을 하는 것을 더 기뻐하십니다(To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD).
MSG에서는 'Clean living before God and justice with our neighbors mean far more to God than religious performance'(하나님 앞에서 깨끗한 삶을 살고 이웃들에게 공평을 실천하는 것은 종교적 의식보다 하나님에게 더욱 의미하는 바가 크다)라고 상세하게 되어 있습니다. 종교적 의식보다도 지금 나의 삶은 하나님 앞에서 깨끗하고 주위 사람들에게 정의를 실천하고 있는지를 먼저 돌아보고 실천하여 하나님께 인정받는 삶을 삽시다.
right 옳은 just(=fair) 정의로운, 공평한 acceptable 마음에 드는, 받아들여지는
sacrifice 제사, 희생 religious 종교적 performance 의식
trivial 하챦은, 사소한
What does God accept more in delight? Religious performance? Or to do what is right and just? (하나님은 무엇을 더 기쁘게 받으시나요? 종교적 의식? 아니면 의와 정의를 행하는 것인가요?)
예) God is more pleased when we are just and fair than when we give him gifts. (하나님은 우리가 하나님께 무엇을 드리는 것보다 정의롭고 공평한 삶을 사는 것에 더 기뻐하신다.)
How can I practise clean living before God and justice with our neighbors? (나는 하나님 앞에서 깨끗한 삶과 이웃과의 공평한 삶을 어떻게 실천할 수 있을까요?)
예) I should be more honest even in trivial things. I'll try not to have prejudice about my neighbors. (사소한 일들에서도 정직을 힘쓸 것이다. 또 이웃들에 대하여 편견을 갖지 않도록 노력할 것이다.)
