조화와 생화
백화점 입구에
다양한 종류의 조화들이
비단 치마를 입은 안내원들처럼 서 있습니다
방문할 때마다
그들은 햇살 같은 미소를 짓지만
겨울바람처럼 차가워
따스한 체온이 닿지 않습니다
조화들의 얼굴이 아무리 곱다 해도
그들은 생화들처럼 이슬 머금은 꽃잎의
싱그러운 빛깔을 흩뿌리지 못하고
은은한 향기로 속삭이지 못합니다
겉모습은 별처럼 반짝이지 않아도
내 안에 뿌려진 빛의 물감으로
나를 빚으신 손길의 따스한 빛을 전하는
생화로 피어나게 하소서
밤낮으로 그의 영을 들이마시며
그 온기가 내 가슴을 타고 번지게 하시고
심연에서 길어 올린 맑은 수액으로
내 영혼 밭에 끊임없이 이슬을 내려
그의 사랑이 내 핏줄마다 흐르게 하소서
Artificial and Living Flowers
At the entrance of the department store,
Various kinds of artificial flowers
Stand like store guides wearing silk skirts.
Each time I visit,
They wear smiles like sunshine,
But cold as winter wind—
No gentle warmth ever reaches me.
No matter how lovely their faces,
They cannot scatter the fresh colors
Of dew-kissed petals like living flowers,
Nor whisper with gentle fragrance.
Though my appearance may not sparkle like stars,
With the colors of light sown within me,
Let me bloom as a living flower
That carries the warm light of the hands that made me.
Night and day, let me breathe in His Spirit,
Let its warmth spread through my heart,
And with clear sap drawn up from the abyss,
Let unceasing dew fall upon the field of my soul,
Until His love flows through every vein.
