Crystal Church of New York held its eighth annual Mission Concert on July 2, during which various performances took place with the purpose of raising funds for the short-term mission trips taking place this summer.

This year, members from Crystal Church will be visiting and serving people in Haiti, Cuba, and Dayton, OH from July 8 to August 5.

One of the most distinct characteristics of Crystal Church is the unity among the Korean ministry (KM) and English ministry (EM) under the leadership of a senior pastor who is of the '1.5 generation,' and that partnership was evident this time around as they participated in the mission concert together for the purpose of supporting the mission teams.

"Our annual mission concert is a ministry that began eight years ago with conviction, but it's also a ministry through which we experienced the hand of God every year," said Rev. Steve Hwang, the lead pastor of Crystal Church. "We always feel that we are inadequate, but we learn how to depend on the God who is our strength when we are weak, and we seek his guidance and providence."

"God is most interested in how we please Him through our worship, and what we can do in response to God's sending of his one and only Son is to give him the glory through worship," Hwang continued. "The proceeds of the mission concerts completely go to furthering God's Great Commission. I pray that all of you would be able to take that amazing privilege that God has given you and worship Him at the mission field."

Short-term missionaries from Crystal Church will be in Haiti from July 8 to 15; in Cuba from July 15 to 22; and in Dayton, OH from July 22 to August 5. In Dayton, the mission team will be serving refugee families in the region.
